The Benefits of Water

Article by Blythe Flake

Water is the stuff of life. It is an essential nutrient without which the human body cannot survive. Most people do not drink enough. Over half of the human body is comprised of water. In order to retain that percentage, eight to twelve glasses of water must be consumed daily. The benefits of doing so are enormous.

Water consumption is essential to the fat loss process. It increases metabolism, and flushes fat byproducts from the system. Water helps in the prevention of kidney stones, which can occur during fat loss, because of toxin buildup. Consumption of this essential liquid can even curb hunger.
Optimal body function can only be maintained by drinking adequate amounts of water every day.

Water is essential for flushing out toxins and keeping the organs healthy. It can battle fatigue, headaches, muscle aches, and even depression. Water has been shown to regulate body temperature, optimize liver and kidney functions, and prevent heart disease. Without the benefits of water acting upon the system, the body cannot function, the brain begins to slow, organs shut down, and even outward appearance deteriorates.

Water creates a youthful appearance. Drinking at least eight to twelve glasses a day hydrates the skin. This diminishes the look of fine lines and wrinkles, and creates a healthy glow. Water plumps lean tissues, making muscles look fuller and better developed. Water in itself is the fountain of youth.
Be it for weight loss, general health, or a more youthful appearance, enjoying the benefits of water can greatly increase the quality of life. Keeping track of water consumption on a daily basis is as important as keeping track of food consumption. Better water consumption habits lead to a better life.
